WebP enables you to relay images faster by compressing them significantly smaller. So, the amount of data to obtain images in other formats is also reduced. Smaller yet same quality images are sent from Medianova CDN to your users much faster.
When the WebP feature is activated from the passive state on the Medianova platform, the previously cached contents continue to be presented in jpeg format. New contents are cached by being converted to WebP format. After activating this feature, it is necessary to purge all the content cached in Medianova CDN in order to convert all content on your web page to WebP format. Thus, content in WebP format is provided to be cached again in CDN. However, this will cause an excessive load on your Source Server (Origin).
You can find in here what you need to know about WebP and its advantages. In addition, you can contact the Medianova support team or Technical Account Manager by e-mail email@example.com or by calling +90 212 275 5456 to experience this feature in the Zones opened for Small and Dynamic Objects (Aksela).
